About EPU Engineering

Railroad signaling, R&D, and consulting from the engineers behind RWTS™.

Who We Are

EPU Engineering LLC is a railroad engineering firm based in Jacksonville, Florida. We deliver three things: railroad signaling, research & development, and consulting — with RWTS™ as our current flagship. Founded in 2018 and led by a principal signal engineer who is engineer of record on Class I projects, EPU was built by engineers who've lived the interoperability problem firsthand, not studied it from a product roadmap.

EPU is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration through SBA VetCert, and a Florida-Certified Veteran Business Enterprise, certified by the Florida Department of Management Services.

EPU's core team brings engineer-of-record experience from prior firms including Interrail Inc., RJ Corman Signaling, Signal South Engineering, Siemens/Invensys, and Progress Rail Services (which acquired Coast to Coast Signal Engineering) — with direct engineer-of-record experience on CSX, BNSF, Union Pacific, and Canadian National Class I projects, plus regional and short-line carriers.

Scalable team. EPU's standing bench of vetted railroad engineering partners — signal engineers, designers, and signaling construction subject-matter experts — extends EPU's reach across Norfolk Southern and additional Class I and short-line carriers, available through subcontract or direct engagement. Team size scales to match project scope.
