About EPU Engineering

EPU Engineering LLC is a railroad engineering firm based in Jacksonville, Florida. We deliver three things: railroad signaling, research & development, and consulting — with RWTS™ as our current flagship. Founded in 2018, EPU is led by a principal engineer with more than 16 years in Class I railroad signal engineering — someone who lived the interoperability problem firsthand rather than studying it from a product roadmap.

EPU is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration through SBA VetCert, and holds a Florida Veteran Business Certification issued by the Florida Department of Management Services, Office of Supplier Development.

Our principal's engineer-of-record work was performed on behalf of prior employers including RJ Corman Signaling, Signal South Engineering, Siemens/Invensys, and Progress Rail Services (which acquired Coast to Coast Signal Engineering) — covering CSX, BNSF, Union Pacific, and Canadian National Class I projects, plus regional and short-line carriers. As a company, EPU is building its own named past performance.

Sized to the work. EPU is a principal-led firm. When a project needs more hands, EPU teams or subcontracts to match the scope. Engagements are led by the principal throughout — clients work with the decision-maker, not an account manager speaking for someone else.

Careers and Teaming

EPU's work is growing around RWTS™ and the projects that use it. There is no position posted today, but we read every résumé from signal engineers, software developers, and people with railroad field experience, keep it for up to 12 months, and may get in touch when the work calls for it. Engineers and firms interested in teaming or subcontracting on future projects are welcome the same way.
